Welcome to Houston County Lake
Houston County Lake is conveniently located between Houston and Dallas just outside of Crockett Texas. We have six immaculate, year round vacation rental homes on or near the lake. Houston County Lake is a spring fed, 1330 acre lake that is great for swimming, boating and fishing. The lake was formed in 1966 by a dam on Little Elkhart Creek. Houston County lake is described by many as being the jewel of East Texas. Many consider the lake to be the best kept secret in Texas! Visitors enjoy the lakes cool spring fed waters as well as the hilly wooded terrain. The lack of crowds allow guests to enjoy family and friends for a day of water sports or fishing! There is an abundant supply of trophy size bass, crappie, sunfish, bluegill and catfish.

“We had a wonderful week at Awesome View. It definitely has the right name. This place is a hidden treasure. The outside decks are the best part. Great for families with kids. The owners have taken great care to make this whole place feel homey and warm. All the flowers they have carefully placed all around the outside make it look so pretty. We were very impressed with the whole experience and will definitely return. They even provided floats and water toys. They were very friendly and helpful to us when booking and bent over backwards to provide answers to all our questions. We absolutely loved this place.”
